| Sponsor a pet |
Some charities run a sponsorship scheme that enables an animal that is being looked after by the charity to be sponsered by an individual or a group. Different charities will run different schemes but the general idea is that money raised from sponsorship will help contribute to the costs that incure whilst the pet is in the care of the charity. Some animals may be rehomed whilst other animals may stay with the charity for the rest of their lives or be placed into a foster home where they will live permanently.
Some charites may have a scheme wherby instead of sponsoring and individual pet you may sponsor a specific form of shelter.
Sponsor a Dog
Many rescue and rehoming charities for dogs will run some form of sponsorship scheme. Some may allow the sponsor to visit the dog and bring it presents whilst other charities may allow the sponsor to take the dog out for walk. This could be suitable for a person who likes dogs and can visit them regularly but does not want to have a dog on a permanent basis.
Sponsor a Cat
Various charities that rescue and rehome cats offer sponsorship. Some charities run schemes whereby an individual cat can be sponsored others will have schemes whereby the money contributes towards a group of cats rather than one specific feline.
Depending on how the rescue centre houses their cats, some may allow sponsors to donate money towards a particular enclosure, run or villa that the cats live in.
Sponsor a Rabbit
Charities that support the wellfare of rabbits or other small furry pets like guinea pigs, mice, hamsters, rabbits or gerbills may offer a scheme where a hutch or cage is sponsered rather than the occupant.
